STATE-BY-STATE

These pages provide information specific to buying and installing a small wind turbine in each of the U.S. states listed on the right.  Eventually, all U.S. states will be represented. In the meantime, you can find information on these states, and other states that we have yet to post, on the U.S. Department of Energy's Net Metering Web site by clicking here and following the
link to "State-by-State Program Activity."

AWEA’s Web site also contains general information that is helpful regardless of which state you live in. You will find the information in the links on the left. Additional general information is available from the Small Wind Home Page and in the
Windy Landowner's Factsheet.

For each state, the following specific and unique information is provided:

Net Metering
Technical Interconnection Issues
Non-Technical Requirements for Interconnection
Local or State Incentive Programs for Wind Energy Investments
Utility Incentives
Wind Resources
Additional Resources
Utility Contacts
Government Contacts
