Increasing Wind Energy's Contribution to U.S. Electricity Supply
According to a groundbreaking 2008 technical report, "20% Wind Energy by 2030: Increasing Wind Energy's Contribution to U.S. Electricity Supply," prepared by the U.S. Department of Energy with contributions from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the American Wind Energy Association, Black & Veatch and others from the energy sector, wind power has a high potential to help meet America's electricity demand. The report explores one scenario for reaching 20% wind electricity by 2030 and contrasts it to a second scenario in which no new U.S. wind power capacity is installed.
