Rob joined AWEA in April 2005. As senior vice president for public policy, his priorities include federal legislation, federal regulations, state policy, and industry statistics. Prior to AWEA, Rob was Economic Advisor to FERC Chairman Pat Wood III. He received with honors a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colby College, where he was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He holds a Masters in Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley.

John Anderson

John M. Anderson joined AWEA in August 2010. John is Director of Siting Policy for the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA). In this capacity John is an industry leader in the area of siting policy and advocacy, and guides the industry in addressing siting issues as they relate to wildlife, sound/health impacts, property values, visual and cultural resources, aviation, and radar. He has long been involved in some of the key siting challenges facing the industry, including issues related to threatened and endangered avian and bat species. Prior to joining AWEA, John was Eastern Regional Manager of Environmental Affairs for BP Wind Energy where he was the senior environmental permitting and policy advisor responsible for the development of new wind energy projects in the eastern half of the U.S., as well as management of post-construction environmental issues at BP Wind’s operating facilities across the U.S. Mr. Anderson has a B.S. in Environmental Science and Management and a minor in Environmental Law from the University of Rhode Island and has over 20 years of professional experience in the areas of environmental analysis, planning, permitting, and regulation.

Liz joined AWEA in August 2005. As Director of Industry Data & Analysis, Liz leads the data and analytical agendas for AWEA, including energy sector statistics, wind market economics, wind project and manufacturing data, green jobs, market forecasts, wind energy benefits, and the effect of policy options on wind industry market growth. She provides analytical support across AWEA's legislative agenda including the Production Tax Credit, Renewable Electricity Standards, Climate Change Regulations and Research & Development Budget. Liz completed a master's degree in Public Policy at George Washington University and holds B.A. in Economics from Boston University.

Susan Williams Sloan joined AWEA in September 2005. In her role as Director of State Relations at AWEA, Susan promotes state and federal policies, educates allied organizations about the wind industry and addresses issues related to social acceptance and support of wind energy. Susan leads a team working on state policy issues including market development, taxes, siting, transmission, distributed and community wind. Prior to joining AWEA, Susan worked for wind and solar interests, promoting renewable energy policies in Austin, and then the Texas legislature. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Austin College in International Studies and French.
