Stefanie Brown joined AWEA in 2001 and works primarily on AWEA's annual conference and exhibition, as well as educational seminars.  Stefanie's priorities include site selection, hotel and convention center relations, vendor facilitation, promotions development, registration, sponsorships, and catering, among others. Prior to AWEA, Stefanie worked worked in energy and environmental consulting. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Integrated Science and Technology, with double concentrations in Energy and Environment, from James Madison University in 1998.

Elesha Peterson Carr joined AWEA in August of 2007 and works primarily on AWEA's educational seminars. Elesha's priorities include hotel relations, vendor facilitation, creation of promotional pieces, registration, sponsorships, and catering, among other responsibilities. Prior to AWEA, Elesha worked in her home state for the South Dakota Democratic Party as Finance Director. Elesha earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Dakota and graduated with honors with her Masters in Business Administration with a custom emphasis of Social Responsibility in Business from Northern Arizona University.

Sakura Emerine joined AWEA in November 2003. She manages educational programs for AWEA's conferences and seminars. One of her primary responsibilities is to develop and execute a conference program for the WINDPOWER Conference & Exhibition. She also manages the AWEA Conference & Education Program Committee, which provides input on overall educational activities. Prior to AWEA, Sakura worked at the Environmental Industry Associations on their conferences and meetings as well as public relations. Sakura earned her Bachelor's of Arts in Communications and Studio Art from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

Lori Rugh joined the AWEA team in August 2005. Her responsibilities include strategically planning for industry alliances and growth of supply chain on a national and international level and  growth of WINDPOWER conferences and all of the AWEA workshops and hosted events, which is inclusive of sales, sponsorships and show management, as well as other responsibilities within the AWEA organization. Lori works jointly with the education and membership staff. Lori comes to AWEA has a background in marketing and the wind industry, working for Enron Wind and GE Energy in a marketing/communications capacity. Graduating from Penn State University in Environment Relations, she finds strong connections to her major through this industry.

Membership and Business Development

Jeff Anthony
Senior Director of Membership and Business Development


Jeff Anthony joined AWEA in 2007. In July 2012, Jeff was promoted to Senior Director of Membership and Business Development. In this position, he is responsible for member services and meeting the business needs of the association’s 2,000 members. He leads a team of membership services and business development professionals and has responsibility for attracting new business members to AWEA. He also oversees specific business development activities serving key sectors of the wind energy industry related to electric utilities, international outreach, the manufacturing and supply chain sector of the wind energy industry, as well as R&D, technology development and wind turbine operations and maintenance programs for the industry. Mr. Anthony graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering and received an Executive MBA from Northwestern University.
